Metabolic Meals is revolutionizing the health food industry by taking the stress out of meal planning and preparation. By delivering fresh, nutritional, high-quality entrees directly to their doors, they help customers improve their health, fat loss and performance more conveniently – and more effectively.
Metabolic Meals needed a site that was more friendly to non-professional athletes and fitness lovers. The original site was very masculine with boxed content not focusing on what their food can do for people. In my design I tried to simplify the first impression by using a more modern color pallet, step by step thinking, and more images of their product.
One of the main challenges with designing this site was creating 2 separate ordering processes for the meal plans. Chefs Choice (below) is designed as a slider asking you a series of 4 questions to help you customize a plan for weight loss or maintenance. Customers have a plan built for them when using this plan opposed to the customer building their own plan on the My Choice system.
On the My Choice plan the customers get to pick their own meals and the portion size. The design had to be interactive and simple to understand. Every meal the customer picks shows up in the pricing bar. The cart expands and they can see the live price changing and edit the cart from there as well. This UI/UX design was the biggest challenge of this site because it had to guide the user seamlessly through the ordering process while hosting a large variety of meal choices and portion sizes.
